The short version: there are no accounts here. No password, no email, no sign-up. You type a callsign and you fly. What follows is the long version — everything Warbirds.io actually keeps, why it keeps it, and how to make it go away.

Your pilot record. The first time you fly, your browser mints a random token and remembers it. That token is your career: callsign, kills, deaths, wins, ships sunk, streaks, medals, best round, paint scheme, and when you last flew. It is not linked to your name, your email, or any account, because there is no account to link it to.
How the round went. Match events — who shot whom, with what, where on the map, which team won — so we can balance the game. This is the data behind every “we changed the numbers” post in the dev log.
Where you arrived from. On your first load of a session we record the referring site, any campaign tags on the link, your browser, operating system, device class, language, timezone, and the country our edge network resolved. It tells us whether people are finding the game and on what.
Settings, on your device only. Callsign, chosen aircraft, control bindings, volume, invert-pitch, and the tips you have already dismissed live in your browser’s local storage and are never sent to us.
No IP addresses. We do not read or keep the address you connect from. Country comes pre-resolved from the network in front of us, or it stays unknown — your browser’s timezone is the coarse fallback, and that is as close to a location as we get.
No passwords, no email addresses, no payment details. We never ask for them, so we never hold them.
Nothing sold, ever. We do not sell, rent, or trade any of this, and we do not run third-party advertising trackers. The in-game banners are our own artwork on our own blimps.
The site loads Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages people read. IP anonymisation is switched on. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, the tag never loads at all — not throttled, not anonymised, simply never fetched. Any browser content-blocker will also stop it cleanly; nothing on the site breaks without it.
What Google does with what it collects is governed by Google’s privacy policy.
Your callsign and your career stats appear on the Hall of Fame and on your own pilot page at warbirds.io/pilot/<your callsign>. Those pages are public and search engines are welcome to index them — that is the point of a leaderboard. Anything you type into team chat is visible to other players in that round.
If you would rather not appear anywhere public, fly under a callsign that isn’t your real name. Nothing on this site asks for one.
Clear it yourself. Clearing site data for warbirds.io in your browser deletes your token, your settings, and the link between you and your pilot record. Fly again afterwards and you start a fresh career from zero.
Ask us. Email [email protected] with your callsign and we will delete the stored record for it. If you are in the UK, EU, or somewhere else with data-protection law behind you, this is also how you exercise your rights of access, correction, erasure, and objection. We answer these by hand, so give us a few days.
Warbirds.io is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you believe a child’s information is stored here, email us and we will remove it.
